Best Coffee Shops in Bangkok
Calling all coffee connoisseurs! And I mean real coffee connoisseurs. If you’re anything like me or my husband, when traveling you prioritize coffee and a good cup of coffee! And as we all know, not all places take their coffee seriously. Combine that with a language barrier and you may be in for a disastrous cup of your morning joy! We spent three full days uncovering the best coffee shops in Bangkok! Each coffee shop we went to not only had amazing coffee BUT also had such cool, artsy, hippie, boho vibes.
Now for a little insight into my caffeine addiction. My go to coffee order in the morning (for my first cup) is an Americano. I keep it simple. When the afternoon rolls around and I’m feeling a little funky, I indulge in a latte. However, in Bangkok I discovered a whole new coffee delight known as a “dirty coffee.” This delightful beverage is a combination of cold cream and milk with an espresso shot poured on top. The kicker? You do not mix them together!! (I made this mistake with my first one) So you basically drink it in a way where you get a little bit of espresso followed by a splash of cold cream/milk…YUM!!!!! I fell in love with it. It became my go to order around 2PM each day. To me, this is the perfect drink because 1. I hate ice and refuse to order drinks with ice in it. 2. You do not lose the strong taste of the espresso like you do in lattes. If you find yourself in one of these best coffee shops in Bangkok, order a dirty coffee!
This Best Coffee Shops in Bangkok list is a combination of one-man shops (Everyday Handicraft, Arai Arai) and full on cafes (A coffee roaster by Li-bra-ry, Piccolo Viccolo.) Whatever you’re into, whatever you’re vibe is, whatever your coffee order is, you will not be disappointed! If you have the time, I would check them all out. If you’ve got limited time, I would prioritize Arai Arai and Everyday Handicraft (my personal favorites.) Read on for the best coffee shops in Bangkok!
Everyday Handicraft Coffee
This was our first coffee stop in Thailand and what a great one it was. We liked it so much we came back at the end of our trip. The guy who owns it is very friendly and you can tell he is super passionate about coffee and knows what he’s doing. He also uses some super cool tools such as a manual espresso maker and the item pictured below!
Arai Arai
My husband dragged me here one afternoon when all I wanted to do was go to Wat Arun!! But then I walked into Arai Arai and I understood why we had to come here. It was like walking into someone’s chic-artsy apartment with such a homey feel. I felt like we could have chilled here for hours. There is tons of art and books everywhere, I couldn’t stop taking pictures! And of course, my dirty coffee was ah-mazing.
A Coffee Roaster by Li-bra-ry
We found this place through a local. It’s located in the Warehouse 30 Creative space so lots of other stuff is around to check out. A good place to come if you need to spend a few hours working as there are lots of tables. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures here :(
Piccolo Viccolo
This place was conveniently located right next to our hotel. The outside space is filled with plants and greenery. Honestly, it’s a hidden gem from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok streets.
And that’s the list of best coffee shops in Bangkok! Hopefully this helps you stay caffeinated while exploring bustling Bangkok.
